Community reports suggest that Rockstar Games is not in a rush to release the third trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI. Various sources speculate that mid-July, coinciding with the World Cup final, is the likeliest window for the trailer's release. However, it is also noted that Rockstar could drop it without warning at any time before November 19.
On June 25, pre-orders for GTA VI opened, and while many anticipated the release of Trailer 3, it did not materialize. Some speculate that Rockstar had no reason to combine the pre-orders with the trailer release, as the pre-orders did not need a marketing boost. This suggests that Rockstar can afford to wait, having already captured significant attention with the confirmation of the Standard and Ultimate Editions.
According to reports, Rockstar's approach to marketing GTA VI will differ from its predecessors, particularly Grand Theft Auto V. Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has indicated that the company aims to maximize organic reach with each new piece of information. This strategy could mean that the trailer is held back for a more impactful release, possibly during a peak social media moment.
While mid-July is considered a potential timeframe, it is emphasized that Rockstar's unpredictability means Trailer 3 could be released at any time. The community is eager for gameplay footage, as the previous Trailers have only showcased the visuals of Vice City and Leonida without revealing actual gameplay mechanics.
There are concerns that Rockstar owes its buyers proof of what they have paid for, especially given the high pre-order prices. The third trailer could serve to reassure potential buyers and generate positive public relations amid ongoing allegations against the company.
