Community Reports
According to several reports, a gameplay leaker known as Cyberleek has allegedly revealed the file size for Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6). The leaker suggests that the file size could be around 200GB, which has raised concerns among players regarding storage requirements ahead of the game's launch on November 19, 2026.
The leak indicates that knowing the file size can help gamers ensure they have enough space on their consoles, specifically the PS5 and Xbox, to avoid any failed downloads when the game becomes available. Players are encouraged to keep at least 200GB of free space to accommodate the game, especially considering the expansive nature of GTA 6.
While the leak provides a ballpark figure, it is important to note that Cyberleek has a developer build of the game, which is likely larger and less optimized than the final release. Therefore, the official file size may be smaller than the reported 200GB. Previous Rockstar titles, such as Red Dead Redemption 2, had file sizes of up to 150GB on PC, suggesting that a file size close to 200GB for GTA 6 is plausible.
Background
GTA 6 is set to be one of the largest and most detailed open-world games ever created, which could contribute to its substantial file size. Rockstar Games has not officially confirmed any details regarding the file size, leaving the community to rely on leaks and speculation.
The anticipation for GTA 6 has been heightened by a recent Netflix showcase titled 'Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look', which provided fans with some insights into the game. However, official information from Rockstar has been limited, leading to increased interest in leaks from various sources.
As the launch date approaches, players are advised to prepare their consoles for the potential file size by clearing enough storage space. This proactive approach will help avoid any last-minute issues when the game is released.
What This Means
Players should consider the implications of the alleged file size when preparing for the launch of GTA 6. Ensuring that at least 200GB of free space is available on their consoles will help prevent any download failures on GTA VI Release Date.
While the reported file size is not officially confirmed, it serves as a useful guideline for players to manage their storage effectively. Keeping a significant amount of free space will also allow for potential updates and additional content that may be released post-launch.
