Lukas Holmes, a British gamer, has shared his hopes that his 2009 Ford Crown Victoria, an American police car he imported to the UK, could make an appearance in Grand Theft Auto VI. According to reports, Rockstar Games spent hours photographing and recording the vehicle at Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire in early 2021. Holmes stated he was thrilled at the prospect and would be 'jumping with joy' if his car appeared in the game.
Holmes, who has cherished the idea of owning a US squad car since childhood, bought the Crown Victoria from the Warminster Township Police Department in Pennsylvania. He has since launched a rental service called Rent-A-Vic to fund the car's upkeep. During the recording session, Rockstar's audio team captured various sounds from the vehicle, including the sound of doors opening and closing, and even had a stunt driver take it for a spin to record its engine noise.
While Holmes acknowledged that the recordings might not be used in the final game, he believes he spotted a car resembling his in the Trailers. He noted that a green-and-white sheriff's car shown in the trailers had similar features to his own vehicle, stating, 'They are about 95% similar to what’s on my car right now.'
Holmes has taken time off work for the game's release on November 19 and plans to check if the in-game cars share his vehicle's distinctive engine sound. He expressed his excitement, saying, 'I’ll be jumping with joy if that’s my car in the game!'
