Recent reports indicate that players are favoring the Ultimate Edition of Grand Theft Auto 6 over the standard version. According to a report by IGN India, the Ultimate Edition is being purchased more frequently, with a price tag of ₹7,499, compared to the standard edition, which retails for ₹5,999.
The data supporting this claim comes from a Tweak Town report that analyzed publicly available PlayStation Store data from various regions, including the US, Japan, UK, Germany, and Canada. This suggests a broader trend in console gaming where increased player spending is driving growth, rather than an increase in the number of players.
Daniel Ahmad, the Director of Research and Insights at Niko Partners, shared insights on X/Twitter, stating, 'One of the broader trends in console gaming over the past decade is how growth is coming from increased player spend, not increased players.' He noted that 'the core console gamer loves ultimate editions,' which may explain the preference for the more expensive version of GTA 6.
