According to various community reports, Grand Theft Auto VI will not be included in Xbox Game Pass at launch. This news may disappoint players hoping to access the game through the subscription service without purchasing it outright.
Reports indicate that PC gamers will also not have access to GTA 6 via Xbox Game Pass at launch. For casual players looking to avoid buying a $600 gaming console, Xbox Game Pass is not a viable solution for playing GTA 6.
While some previous GTA titles have been included in the Xbox Game Pass library, it appears that GTA 6 will not follow suit immediately. There is speculation about whether the game could be added later, but no definitive timeline has been provided.
Additionally, Xbox Game Pass is set to impose strict monthly limits on cloud gaming in November, coinciding with the release of GTA 6. This could further complicate access for players relying on the subscription service.
Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, which owns Rockstar Games, has previously expressed skepticism about making frontline console products available on subscription services at launch. He stated that economically, it does not make sense for their business model.
Historically, Grand Theft Auto V has been included in Xbox Game Pass multiple times since its release in 2013, but its first inclusion came over six years later. This raises questions about how long players might have to wait for GTA 6 to appear on the service.
