One month to go
Grand Theft Auto VI is now one month from release. Rockstar has confirmed November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and OpenCritic marked the milestone with a reminder of where things stand.
The confirmed details are unchanged: the Standard Edition costs $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition $99.99 in the US, pre-orders include the Vintage Vice City Pack, and digital pre-orders can pre-load from November 12, a week before launch. No PC version has been announced.
Boxed copies come with a code, not a disc
According to reports, the physical edition contains a download code rather than a disc, so boxed buyers still download the whole game. Rockstar has not detailed the box contents itself; reports say it includes a paper map, a series tradition. If your connection is slow, a digital pre-order lets you start the download on November 12 instead of on launch day.
Planning for launch week
Some outlets suggest booking a couple of days off around November 19 for a long weekend in Leonida. The useful part is timing: unlocks roll out by region from late on November 18 (UTC), so check when it unlocks where you live and make sure your console has room for the download — Rockstar has not published the file size yet.
GTA VI has been in development for well over a decade and was delayed twice before landing on this date.
