The Cypress Cove Nudist Resort in Kissimmee, Florida, is reportedly facing a surge of negative reviews linked to its perceived inspiration for a location in Grand Theft Auto 6. Fans believe that the resort has been modeled after a spot within the game, leading to an influx of problematic posts on its Google page.
In response to the reviews, the resort's owner stated that they are dealing with a 'coordinated series of fabricated posts' referencing GTA 6. They have documented these reviews and the requests for payment to alter or remove them, asserting, 'We will not pay, we will not negotiate.' The owner emphasized that these posts do not reflect genuine guest experiences.
Several reviews have included specific references to in-game elements, such as 'Jason,' 'GTA VI Characters,' and various GTA-related activities. One review humorously noted, 'I will be playing GTA 6 for three days straight while nude in my RV,' showcasing the crossover between the game and the resort's real-world appeal.
Despite the negative attention, the resort's management has taken steps to report the situation through appropriate channels. They clarified that while they appreciate the enthusiasm for the GTA storyline, the resort is a real location in Florida and not part of the fictional world of the game.
The controversy has emerged as excitement builds for the upcoming release of GTA 6 on November 19, following a 13-year wait since the last main entry in the series. Fans have been actively discussing and sleuthing potential real-world inspirations for various locations in the game, including the apartments of characters Jason and Lucia.
