Confirmed Facts
Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to launch on November 19. The game will be available digitally, rolling out at midnight local time in most countries.
Players in New Zealand will be the first to access the game, starting at 11am UTC on November 18, which corresponds to midnight local time on November 19.
Community Reports
Community reports suggest that rather than a fixed global launch time, the midnight local rollout allows players in New Zealand to get a roughly 20-hour head start over those in Central America and other regions.
Players who pre-ordered the game will be able to start pre-loading from November 12, which is also when boxed copies containing a digital download code will ship.
While pre-loading will be available, the game will not unlock until the designated time for each timezone. Timestamps spotted on the PlayStation Store indicate 15 major release times across various timezones.
For Xbox Series X/S users, adjusting console settings may provide an early opportunity to play. However, PlayStation 5 users cannot utilize this trick, although they could technically play early with a separate New Zealand account funded via a New Zealand gift card.
After the New Zealand launch, the game will continue to roll out through timezones in Australia, Japan, India, mainland Europe, the U.K., and finally the U.S., where players will also be able to play at midnight Eastern.
What This Means
The staggered launch times could lead to a unique experience for players, as some will be able to start their adventures in Los Santos well ahead of others. This may result in varied discussions and gameplay experiences across different regions.
