Take-Two Interactive has intensified its legal efforts to identify the individuals behind these leaks. The company has issued subpoenas to X (formerly Twitter) and previously targeted Microsoft and Discord. The latest video leak, attributed to a persona named 'CyberLeek,' features a watermark promoting an anti-digital future message, which claims consumers are deprived of the right to resell digital products.
Take-Two's legal actions include Digital Millennium Copyright Act subpoenas filed in federal court, seeking information from Microsoft and Discord regarding accounts connected to several Discord servers. Notably, one of these accounts is linked to Australian GTA content creator Matthew 'Matt' Judge, also known as DarkViperAU, who has denied any wrongdoing.
The leaked footage has raised concerns that the leakers may have access to a development build of GTA 6, potentially allowing for more substantial story spoilers. Earlier leaks included footage of supercar gameplay, an armed robbery, and scenes from a strip club.
Despite the ongoing leaks, sources suggest that Take-Two's plans for the upcoming official GTA 6 presentation remain unaffected. Bloomberg reports that Rockstar is still uncertain about how the material was obtained and who is responsible, with frustration growing internally over the situation.
