The group responsible for recent Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks, known as CyberLeek, has reportedly threatened to release a full build of the game, which would include its complete story mode and end credits. According to GamesIndustry.biz, this warning comes with a demand that the memecoin associated with the group reaches a market cap of $30 million. As of the warning, the market cap had risen from $3.8 million to $5.7 million.
The alleged warning stated, "Take-Two gets one way out: physical disks and a public apology." The group suggested that Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, could either comply with their demands or gamble on whether CyberLeek is bluffing.
This threat follows a previous leak that included 24 minutes of gameplay footage, cutscenes, and story details. The group had shared this content just one week before Rockstar's extended gameplay teaser was released on Netflix. They have also indicated that if they can reach Rockstar, no other publisher is safe from similar threats.
Background
Take-Two Interactive has responded to the leaks by filing subpoenas against Microsoft, Discord, and X to identify those responsible for the unauthorized distribution of the leaked gameplay footage. One of the subpoenas included a take-down request issued to Discord, which described the content as unauthorized and claimed it constituted copyright infringement.
In response to the leaks, Rockstar Games expressed its disappointment, stating that this was not how they intended for players to see the game after such a long wait. They described the situation as "heartbreaking" for their team and expressed hope that players would wait to experience the game themselves, with the official GTA VI Release Date set for November 19.
Rockstar has not confirmed the authenticity of the leaked content, and the origin and details of the full build claimed by CyberLeek remain unclear.
What This Means
Players should remain cautious regarding the authenticity of any leaked content related to GTA 6. Rockstar's official stance is that the leaks do not represent the intended experience of the game. Fans are encouraged to wait for the official release to fully appreciate the game as designed by the developers.
